More electronic sound!

March 23, 2009

Yep, finally I got myself working on my theremin…and three hours later, I put the final soldering to the board and set myself to make the adjustments. It really sounds good, actually better than I thought it would. It is based on the minimum theremin schematic, which is really simple and easy to solder, even when made on perf-board (this was my second real circuit soldered and I only forgot to do one trace). I added a little amp and a speaker to make the thing more portable, and also put all this stuff in a wood case that I made. the only thing left to do is to find the way I will attach the antenna to the case… but anyway it is playable and I’m happy of it. Next one on the list, the mixer/synth in a briefcase, that will be really helpfull to record our jam sessions of ssqpn:gl, For those who are interested in photos, I should post some here when I’ll get my hand on a digital camera…

Yep, I decided to motivate myself and the other artists who are working on this event by proposing them to make a little thing or two or three. This thing is a lantern, one that could have been made after the fall of society, with found and salvaged materials and that would be beautifully home-made and being able to actually light up (electricty or fire, or anything else that would be available in our setting). So the proposition is launched, particularly to Ph and Serj, but all of my good friends are invited to try themselves at post-apoc lantern making. I should post some photos of the finished lanterns here when they will be completed.

This little one is to inform my players that I am progressing on the preparation of the said event. The place where it will take place begin really much to look finished (still some little stuff like moldings to install). So, I am asking you to send me your backgrounds in word documents in my email, so I will be able to check a last time my scenario to make it better for you to play. Also it should be trhe time for you to begin to look out for costumes (those who don’t already have one). But there is still a couple of weeks of work for me to put on this so it isn’t for tomorrow.

…and for those who don’t know where to look for their costumes : http://www.villagedesvaleurs.com/fr/whoweare/pq.php and http://www.armeedusalut.ca/magasins beside the habitual “churches sales”, these are your best bets.
