Scenario is on is way
April 30, 2009
The Kholat Syakhyl Mt. scenario for call of cthulhu is advancing well, I ended up writing the fourth page this morning, (non-including the props and the cover). In its final form it should be a multi-page pdf file of 20 to 30 pages, in full color with illustrations and props included. I’m really happy to work on this kind of document, this one being the first of the numerous scenario I’ve done to really take shape and be “published”.
Some things to come…
April 14, 2009
Lots of things to come to be exact…I will begin with waht excites me the most, electronics!! Yes, I received my massive mouser order and will begin to work on our ssqpngl audio stuff, including a mixer, a fuzz effect, an simili dub siren and a lot of other weird audio effects. Also, I’m working on a final pdf version of my Kholat Syakhyl Mt. scenario, that I will post here for anyone to download and play for free. There is also the suite of the scenario mentionned here that I’m planning to play pretty soon with the usual players and that’s it
oh and, for you, a little document that I once found in an old 1920 book, all redone blank in Photoshop…
New game props (suite)
April 7, 2009
This is the suite of the last post, now with scanner.
this is the first telegram (of three) that was received by the players. The prop is made simply with the HPLHS western union blank telegram. And like the authentic ones, the text was added after the telegram was printed.
Now on the medical examiner reports, these are the layouts I did in Photoshop, printed on fine paper and cooked for 1-2 mintes, just to bring up a little yellowish tint, filled by hand with a fountain pen and that’s it.
report2 report3 report4 report5 report6 report7 report8 report9
Now a little drawing of the guide that conducted the players to the mountain. This character is an half russian, half Mansi men and I wanted to show the players a bit how he would looks like…
In adition of these props, I also did a map of the surroundings of the Kholat Syakhyl, but it is kinda hard to scan…too big
Finally, a steamship pass, that the players purchased to return back to the US after their crazy russian adventure…made in photoshop, as usual
New game props
April 6, 2009
I’m making props once again. This time it was for an tabletop game of call of cthulhu role playing game that happened last weekend. Based on real events that happened in the 50’s in the Dyatlov pass (named after the event). The adventure included an geology expedition financed by the miskatonic university going to oterton city, Russia to investigate on an unknown rock found there on the Kholat Syakhyl Mt., the strange death of nine other russian university students in the area, a complete tribe of evil Mansi, amputations and lots of fun. The adventure was completed in two evening/night sessions and inspired me to complete the prop collection for this adventure (and maybe publish the scenario on this blog, if someone is interested).
For now I will post some images of some props, as a teaser for the scans that are coming soon.
